To think that Dow Chemical has only had one employee transition on the job.I wonder how many have transitioned due to exposure from their chemicals.Could it be that one employee didn't properly use safety gear? While it is nice to have corporate support I'm sure there are companies with much better safety records and less controversial than Dow that are supporting Ts employees and would make better role models for TS inclusion.

Funny how it always gets reduced, at first, to the bathroom issue. Then there's always the "divide and conquer" stratagem with the definitions issue. Both have no substantive basis...no hard facts that either would impact or have impacted the workplace. With 11 states, hundreds of smaller jurisdictions and many colleges and universities having enacted legislation or policy...many public accomodations specific...there is just no evidence to make the case for "disruption" by trans individuals. Ms. Miller's arguments were all made of straw.

I am still perplexed by the decision to send Mr. Lavy. How could they (evangelical bigots) have not known how he would appear as a witness? Go figure...

Looking forward to your last installment...

Ah, yes, the bathroom issue, in all its gaseous fecundity.

The solution already exists. In fact, it has existed for probably a couple hundred years. Nearly every restroom in the business world has many of them. They're called stall doors

Miller and Lavy were jokes, but you can see how the rotten rats running the Religious Reich will go next year. I thought "thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" was one of the Ten Commandments they hold so dear.

Fine job, Angela, of observing the Congressional going-on. Watching it on YouTube was a poor substitute.

Etsitty vs Utah Public Transport

"Krystal Etsitty was fired by the Utah Transit Authority after she began using women's restrooms on her route. She sued, alleging she was fired because she was a transsexual and because she didn't conform to expectations of male behavior.

In 2005, a federal judge dismissed Etsitty's lawsuit after finding that transsexuals fall outside of a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that banned discrimination against people who fail to meet the stereotype of their gender. "
