This article is very naive, yes it's wonderful for the state of California to have laws which give LGBT people more rights than other states but to think that anyone in this country should be content to any less rights than others is ridicules. As a citizen of the United States, I should have the same rights as everybody.
As for the churches which spent so much money for these political amendments, They should lose their tax exempt status as they have violated the laws of the church being tax exempt.

CG and I watched the demonstrations in Los Angeles on our laptops late last week. I believe the final verdict is not yet in on Proposition 8. Somewhere I heard that the American people should not vote on what should be human rights.
Doesn't anyone realize that if slavery had been put to a vote in the Nineteen Century, it would have been approved? That's the ugly truth of it, but sadly, many African-American supporters of the proposition voted for it.
Another sad commentary is that much of organized religion poured large sums of money into supporting proposition 8 that could have much better been spent on helping the disadvantaged. To me, it is misplaced priorities.
Hopefully under an Obama administration, conditions will significantly improve for the entire LGBT community.
