Monica, a most insightful post as always. As you know, the questions to which you alluded were discussed in 1969. It's baffling why they are still an issue today. In a time when it was illegal to even crossdress, and terrifying to admit to transsexuality, Hose & Heels and FPE were incredibly courageous. However, what worked in 1960 is not necessarily applicable to 2010. We should honor the pioneers but to remain mired in the past is to sacrifice the future. Unfortunately some continue to deal with precisely this issue.

Hi Monica,
This is the first time that I have seen your blog. I read Stuck in Fear and can relate to a lot of phobias. I crossed a lot of my phobias off but have more to conquer. I don't know if I ever will on some.
I do have the same phobia, dying alone. I think that is why I sacrifice a lot so my wife won't leave me. She is very accepting and I'm coming to my 5th anniversary of my surgery. The reason that I sacrifice is that there is no intimacy in our relationship and we have agreed to be celibate. I do have other fears but I don't think that I'm so much afraid as they haven't come up.
Well, anyway, nice blog. I think a good idea could come of this. See how many fears are really out there. Have people list their fears and maybe some of us can disspell these fears. Maybe even get over a few that you or some of the others might have.
